nationwide test postponed

The Federal Emergency Management Agency has announced that the nationwide test of Wireless Emergency Alerts and the Emergency Alert System, originally scheduled for September 20th, has been postponed to the back-up test date of October 3rd. The test will originate at 11:20 a.m. The test is being rescheduled due to ongoing response efforts to Hurricane Florence.

Although this is the 3rd year for a national test through radio and TV, this is the first test of the national system to include wireless devices.
